I think my parsnips are slower off the mark than Goodlife's.  ::) With me, it's generally a couple of weeks. I have one container now ready to go over to the lottie: it's too cold and windy for me and them today.  :(
Anyway, those sproutlings were transferred over from the kitchen-paper germination jar on 20 April.
(Sorry, my post earlier was a bit misleading re 'a few weeks' ).  :-[

And the reason for soaking the tubes before planting is that any piece of dry card will form a barrier between soil and compost  even
if well watered after planting, strange but true.

I ususally put my tubes into module trays (one per module) to give them a bit more stability. I've also found that a good way to fill them without lots of compost falling round the sides is to use a cut-off plastic milk bottle as a funnel. It's just the right size and if it gets blocked just tapping on the outside loosens it.

someone on here mentioned putting a used tea bag in the bottom of the tube, I used them for sunflowers this year but have grown beans in them before  :)

I keep my tubes on plant trays and unblocked..so that I can have a look when parsnip roots are showing...
I think with my previous post I should have said...that with loo rolls I tend to plant about week after germination...and with my 3/4 kitchen rolls I gain extra week before roots come through. It is supprise how much quicker the roots grow than the tops.
