Floppy Tepin

I have one Tepin plant, it's about 1ft high but quite floppy.  All my other varieties of the same size are sturdy but Tepin seems like it's going to fall over from the base.  Is this normal for this variety?

They do have thinner stems than other chillies, but usually are only floppy at the ends.
Water and feed as normal and they should pick up.
Tomato feed will do, start feeding when they flower.

I grew a few a couple of years ago.
They take a long time to flower and may not do so in their first year.
So keep indoors over winter.

Thanks for your reply dtw.  I've taken this photo of it today, it has to be propped up against the glass to keep it upright.  The leaves are not floppy, but the stem is.

Do you think it would be worth pinching the top out to encourage it to be bushier? What did you think of the flavour/heat?

If it's just the top flopping over, that's normal, if it's the whole plant then I'm not sure what would cause that, but git a stick to support it.
Give it some tomato feed and see if it improves.

I would cut the growing tip, as they do get very tall, 5ft to 6ft.

I never got round to tasting them, as they take a very long time to flower and mine died of the cold as I didn't keep them indoors due to lack of space.
As yours is quite tall already you should get some this year if it's sunny.

It used to hold the World's hottest record before the Dorset Naga and Bhut Jolokia came along.
I think it was 300,000 scoville units, whereas Bhut Jolokia is 1,000,000+.

My "Hot Tepin"is about 2" high,the seeds took forever to germinate and I only got 4 ot of two sowings of a whole packet.
I guess from reading this thread they probably won't fruit this year ?Will they be alright over winter in a cold greenhouse ?and do I do anything to them like prune them down or something ?
