OH has his paid into bank account & mine was in my PO account this week. We had a new boiler fitted in September so our monthly outlay should go down ;D.

I always call it "The Grandchildrens Xmas Pressie Allowance"  ;D. The DWP have sent me a nice letter assuring me they will try and pay it in time for Christmas!!

Got mine to day, I thought it was £200 so the extra £50 will be donated to my local brewery. I shall be stepping out shortly to celebrate my new Wii fit age of 35 which was registered this morning after my exercise regime has been stepped up a bit with the new Wii Fit plus. Now I am going to relive the last 30 years properly down the pub so the extra 50 spondolics  should bring me back to my mid sixtys by tea time. ;D

OH not got his - expect bank are sitting on it a bit longer.

I put foil behind the radiators and under the chair seats (cover in a plastic bag), makes quite a lot of difference.

Some people actually need it for fuel. It's another thing like child benefit where the money could be better used if it wasn't given to people who don't need it.

I have enough money to pay my fuel bills becaused I worked hard and saved.  Why should i not get the same handout as those that did not?

I am happy for people of pensionable age to get this allowance no matter what their income.

I t would cost a fortune to means test everyone so it probally works out the same.

If our government can afford to fund wars that nobody wants and fund their own expenses from a seemingly bottomless pot then good luck to the pensioners.

This country gives little care to our elderly and I am happy to see them get that bonus.

Seriously many elderly people living on pensions that really need this aid with  heating bills.

I used to work with elderly people and it was shocking to go into freezing cold homes and see them sat in overcoats with blankets over them.

The care of our elderly should be a priority.

Why should us poor old duffers have to be means tested. If somebody is to tired to get on in life it ain't my problem. I've paid my dues, still paying them after working 50 years. There should be an age cut off point for paying income tax. free medicine, free bus travel, £250 winter gin allowance, cheap or free insulation. I think I can get me feet fixed too now. Whoops forgot the free swimming pool sessions. Don't we deserve it even if it is only for bringing up ungrateful people like you.
