Unwanted Move Part 2 and THANKS!

Just to thanks for all your kind messages...it really has been such a support to talk to people who understand what it is going to be like to have to lose my beloved garden.
Went out this weekend and bought some pots for fave perennials, but there is going to be a lot to do. Realise I can't take everything, and I don't want to leave holes behind, but have spent so much time, money and love on this garden over the past few years!
Anyone got advice on how I can  move a couple of favorite shrubs - a Red Robin and another (similar size can't recall the name but it will come to me). Should I try and pot them now or just dig 'em up when I  have to go?

Lassie - 'same size' - what sizes??

Know little about this but, if they're not too big, I would probably wait till the last momet & then move them bare-rooted & either heel them in temporarily, or put them in their new spots.
Whatever, make sure they're not short of water (oh, funny man?) before the move.= Tim

Bless you, and Tim thanks.....t'other shrub I want to take is a Skimmia...quite small still. Bought some sale terracotta pots at the garden centre coming up to Stow Hill, but haven't moved anything yet aprt from two baby Clematis. Still ghastly!

Take lots and lots of cuttings.

Would the red robin and other thing work from cuttings as well, just in case?

Can you dig up some periennials, split them, so you can leave some behind and take some with you?
