Love them, we used to have a regular visitor in our garden, we knew he was there because our springer spaniel  would make a very particular sound, he makes the same sound for the frogs and toads that are all over our garden too.  :)

Make mine a large one!

I love hedgehogs.  Is that sunflower seeds they're eating?

As it was dark It's more likely to be the slugs eating the spilt seed... and the hogs eating the slugs...  :)

grannyjanny

How lovely. I adore hedgehogs.

Georgie

Lucky you.  We haven't had any hedgehogs here in years.  Spoil them rotten.   :)

slugs are only a small (less than 10%) part of their diet. the sunflower hearts are high in fat and protein, so welcome food for 'hogs at this time of year as they need to pile on the reserves for the winter!
lovely photo btw  ;)
You couldn't make it up!

                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

great photo! I haven't seen any in a long time, used to get them in my old garden in London  :)

Kea

I had to bury the one that visits our garden a few weeks ago I was very upset, he seemed to have died mid-step. when I first found the body I thought he'd just 'froze' so that I didn't spot him but then I realised he was dead. It was very strange just like he was walking along and died on the spot....I assumed one of my neighbours must use slug pellets or something.

Flighty

Ditto what Georgie says!
