Ants!!!!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Masses of ants have decided to invade my potted pomegranite. Any recommendations for getting rid of these , organically if possible!

There are nematodes available for ants now, just water them on the nest.

 ants have several queens in one nest, and I find the best way to treat potted plants is to immerse the whole pot in water. leave for a couple of hours until all air has bubbled out of the potting medium. then drain fully. usually works for me!! ;)

Thanks Deb P and Tonybloke. Will try the water one first, anything to kill the little devils. Mind you I did give their eggs to my goldfish!  ;D

It seems to be a bad time for ants. Today I have found loads of them in my compost bin, on my patio and at the allotment. At least they are not in the house, although I think they are easier to get rid of there!

I've got them everywhere! don't know where there getting in the house. even found one in the fridge...little bugger. and there a real pain down the plot farming aphids on all my crops. probably my penance for when i was young and in possession of a magnifying glass and a bright sunny day...

I used to get them every year in my old place.In the bathroom can you believe.Just had to put the ant powder down.

I have had quite a few this year in my raised beds. :(

Well the soaking in the water for a couple of hours seems to have done the trick!  ;D

Our greenhouse is plagued with them. The missus put poison down which they greedly ate and they seem to be thriving on the stuff! If you can locate the nest I've found boiling water can be pretty effective.

I spoke to soon, the little blighters are back in the pomegaranite-grrrr. I have found one nest though in amongst the gravel  on the floor of the greenhouse. Twave hot water quickly dispensed there! Would there be a nest in the pomegranite too?
