5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE!!

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons melted butter
3 tablespoons chocolate chips or (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract and your favourite tipple
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to your largest mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using), vanilla extract and a drop or two of your favourite tipple, then mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

If your feeling very very naughty, cover liberally in Bailey's Irish Cream. And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now you are only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! You are going to forward this straight away, aren't you ... :-).

my son made these the other night after listening to Chris Evens drive time on radio 2, he did double the mix and split it between 4 mugs (very large mugs i may add)
and when he cooked them they rose so much that they collapsed over the side, they are in no way shape or form for the shrinking violets amongst us but they did taste fantastic, 1 mug will do at least 3 people in my opinion and i have a very large appetite (although i did polish a whole 1 off to my self with lashings of fresh cream last  night) ;D
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

I'd like to try this but level or heaped tablespoons?

I used level ones on my attempt just to see how it went.   Subsequent attempts have used rounded measures.

Do you have to use melted butter?

Can you use oil instead?

Ninnyscrops.

Didn't have any proper cocoa powder, so the nearest was Whittards Mint hot choc powder!

Just the thing after an omelette and salad supper  ;)

Scrummy!

Fork

Mine turned out a bit bitter and dry :(

Will have to give it another go soon.
