Jam Jars

Coffee, mayonase, any old jars, does any one still use them to put over the young plant to protect them from the frost after planting out.

yep, we use the demi johns and 2 ltr pop bottles  ;D

Never used glass jars but I have used plastic pop bottles cut up and the tops cut at intervals to deter slugs. Also used water cooler bottles with the bottoms cut off over plants.

I use plastic pop bottles with the bottoms cut off and no lids.

Glass jars are a bit redundant in this day and age of plastic.

I am pleased to see that not meny people are using them i have been taking out glass from my soil from before when plastic bottle were  invented and still picking it out now and i have never never had a glass jar  in my garden. Just because people bashed the bottom out of the jar instead of cutting it.

Does anyone use milk bottles,or are they too opaque?
