I would guess it will be around the end of April before I even consider it, and even then, the weather will be my judge!

I have put some Onions in today will have to see how they take. I put some fruit bushes in as well  :)

Sparkly

I have overwintering onions and garlic in and I am planning to put the shallot sets in tommorrow. In a couple of weeks I will start putting maincrop onions in. I have sown sweet peas and broad beans in the greenhouse. Near the end of March I will probably put some carrots, beetroot, peas and turnips in. I have started chillies, peppers and aubergines for the greenhouse and may sow some leeks in a deep pot to be transplanted out in a couple of months on the plot.

I am experimenting with early broad beans - place your bets. I have planted some in my unheated green house today and have also started to warm up the bed I will plant them in outside - which will do better?

I have also put out some shallots today I know its too early but I just got carried away ;D

Hiya, AmandaC..welcome to the site  ;D
our shallots have been in a couple of weeks, in fact they're already growing, lots of people on here have broadies in already, too  :)

Eristic

I have garlic and broad beans overwintered from autumn sowing. As for sowing this year, I have done early peas, parsnip and radish plus planted jerusalems.

pigeonseed

garlic from November, shallots last week

I've also sown nigella, aquilegia and hollyhock - I thought anything that self-seeds must sit round all winter anyway, so should be ok.

I planted out some gipsophila roots. And Susiebelle sent me some tiny furry foxglove babies, and I put them in the other day. They look as happy as a foxglove can look.

But maybe flowers are hardier than veg?

amphibian

Just 48' of shallots, nowt else for a few weeks, when it will be peas and broad beans. I've had garlic in since November, they're about a foot high now.

Still cold here, few weeds showing, they're normally my cue.

artichoke

I have overwintering garlic and broad beans, have just put in shallots, and have started with potatoes - south east. Everything else is in pots indoors.

shaun01

just shallots  and garlic for me my onions will be put in in a few weeks depending on the weather my onion bed is covered with black poly at the mo to warm it up i am happy with the way things are going
You can bury a lot of troubles digging in the dirt.

Robert_Brenchley

I haven't planted a thing since the autumn. Onions will be going in shortly as soon as I've got the weeds out of their beds. I couldn't do it earlier because of the weather.
