Mine has never really recovered from OH cleaning the patio with Jeyes fluid... the roots are under the patio... twice we have had loads of buds which have just dried up and died. She thinks it may be Vine weevil under the slabs but as we are using the nemesis stuff in the tubs we don't have much damage anymore... the truth will out when she has me re lay the patio....  ::)

Our wisteria is on the front (south) of our house, under a slight leak in the guttering, which we don't repair on purpose!! ;D

did mine yesterday, have been saying i need to do this job for the last five years since we moved here and inherited it but always never got round to doing it. well i finally got round to this job this winter and haven't really got a clue as to what I'm doing (but i have read up on it many times and avidly paid attention when advice is given in the gardening programmes regarding it) the proof will be in the pudding and a couple of months time :-\, here's hoping.

Did mine today - really good timing with the snow and all  ;D

Must admit I do mine each year, not always by the rule book with 2/3 buds, sometimes a few at 4/5 (just in case I've trimmed it too near to a bud) and touching wood, always seem to have a good show.

forgot to add when i was pruning i came a cross a seed pod from a mid summer flower. does anyone know if its easy to germinate these?

Just looked up about growing wisteria from seed and it would appear 10-15 years from seed to flower :o

Very few wisterias grown from seed ever flower any good, the ones you buy are "worked" grafted onto stock. They do not come true from seed, you can be lucky like some people have been with apple seed but the odds are against you. :'(
