can you guys tell me if I've killed the rhubarb??
I was digging today and forgot about it, stuck the fork right through it!
Would you think any parts will survive their ordeal??
and should I plant it back in the soil now or later on???

here is the photo:

(The PC I am using at the moment has blocked the photo) But I would just plant the rhubarb in the soil,  plenty of manure, and see how it comes up.  It should be OK as rhubarb dies back annually anyway.  Plus people are always splitting crowns when they get to a certain size.  I would not be too worried about it.

re plant it now it should overwinter ok and come back in the spring im always moving mine i just dig some manure into the hole and it always comes back.
you may be a king or a little street sweeper but sooner or later you dance with de reaper.

When I took over my plot, the rhubarb was a single huge clump under an apple tree.  So I dug the crown up and sliced it into 12 with my spade and re-planted it in it's new home.  I've got 12 big healthy plants now!  Re-plant it.

Don't touch it.  Leave it till the following year at least,   to allow the plant to establish itself for better harvets in future years.
