Jeannine

I crawled into work today very determined and coped better  with my pain than I thought I would, I was  really struggling at school hometime but needed to make a home visit.

So I did

Long story cut short ... I came home with a Springer Spaniel puppy, very bad situation, skin and bones and filthy dirty but I just couldn't walk away having seen it.

Phoned John from the car to come out to me and dropped the bombshell.

Not an easy task to get it into the house past 3 nosy Pekingese , 2 cats and 2 kittens but we managed it somehow.

Between us we managed to give it a warm bath and a good feed, it is now curled up in Johns arms on my rocking chair in my sewing room.

He is 4 1/2 months old, a lovely little boy but soooo thin it is unbelieveable.

He has eaten far too much but I just didn;t have the heart to stop him.

Now the fun comes, finding him a home. He absolutely cannot stay here for more than a couple of days, I have made a few calls so fingers crossed he may have something soon.

Amazing what can happen to such a pretty little thing in just a few short months.

I have just glanced across, John and dog both snoring!!

Funny thing is, I jst realised for a while I had forgotten a lot about my pain.

Its amazing how anothers needs can take ones mind of your own needs/aches and pains. I am so glad the distraction has helped you and your discomfort. I think what you have done is so kind and thoughtful and that little dog must be feeling so much better thanks to your loving care. I do hope you manage to find a home for him. Please keep us posted regarding his progress.

You know the old saying Jeannine "Every dog has his day" well this is your little chaps day.

Keep us posted :)

Jeannine

I have just had a phone call from a doggy foster carer for a local run animal welfare association, and as luck will have to she is known to my neighbour who does volunteer work for them  . He is being picked up in the morning. The carer will keep him at her home till he is fully injected , vetted, fattened up and healthy etc then he will be up for adoption through the association, the homes are checked very  thoroughly so I am confident he will be in good hands. The carers home is in the country, my neighbour has been there and has told me the lady  has abandoned donkeys and horses and takes some dogs in when needed.

I will get a picture before he goes.He looks funny right now he is all tin ribs and skinny with a fat tummy!!

It has been a good day.

The fat tummy could be worms.Pretty endemic. Mind you could just be overeating! Glad it took your mind off things for a bit.

Well done Jeannine.  You are a very kind human being.  I wonder if I would have had the courage to do what you did - though I would have wanted to.  I would have been afraid that I couldn't find a nice new home for the little chap.  That's what would have worried me most.  I know I couldn't have kept him myself.  This is one of the lovely "Aaahhhh" stories eh?  Don't forget some pics.  Do you think you might ever get some "after" pics from his new carer/owner to share with us?

Yes some after piccies would be nice, specially for you the rescuer.

Well done for spotting the little fella and relocating him in foster care :D

Just heard on the news a guy has been sent to prison for four months for putting his dog in a washing machine. It had made a mess.

These people make me sick.

Thank God for People like Jeannine and many like her who try their best to help these dumb animals.

I really shouldn't be surprised, but I am at how we as humans can do such atrocities to animals. Let alone to other human beings.
I do feel ashamed when I hear these horror stories to be classed as human >:( :'(

He was collected this morning, all smelling of perfume, his fat tummy was due to all the food he ate in the 15 hours he was here.

They believe they already have a home for him when he is fit enough to go, someone known to the association who has recently had their old spaniel die might just. be the answer,  but he will stay where he is till all  is well.

The really worrying bit (without giving any info out here) is the three little kids in there, but things are moving quite fast to sorting that.

Our eldest Daughter is like you, Jeannine. She can't pass a stray Cat without giving it a home.

They seem to like the AGA - & stay!! She too lives on painkillers. Unfair.

You are indeed a kind human being Jeannine and I do hope to goodness that this event leads to the children getting the care they deserve too x x

Such a shame its not as simple to rescue them also.

Thank goodness for people like you Jeanine! The trouble is that the previous owners will no doubt go and find themselves another 'pet' soon.
The family next door to daughter 1 have just got a new puppy and a rabbit. They still have a poor little dog that they used to leave at weekends and yell at all the time until Steph told them she would be reporting them to the RSPCA. All seems ok just now, but she is listening and watching.
Smile, it confuses people.
