Wow is it piddling down here in not very sunny Essex!  I am pleased as it is great for the garden and allotment but it is number one sons summer fair this evening so I don't hold out much hope of the barby being a success. :-\  The wind is blowing, the sky is an odd grey brown colour - taupe maybe  :P and the rain is thrashing down!

It's raining and sunny here. I can't find the rainbow, but it must be there somewhere. And I was just about to leave work (hooray!) Maybe I'll take the bus rather than walk!
gone to pot :D

Mrs Ava

Look, only 3 minutes have passed and the sky is blue again!  Amazing weather this.

Jesse

EJ it's pelting it down here and the wind is blowing in your direction so expect some more later!

Has been amazing weather here in W/Bay too.  One minute the sun is splitting the rocks and it is oh so hot, and the next we have torrential rain, then five minutes pass and the hot weather is back. Hasn't been able to make its mind up all day.  Everything looking very verdant at the allotment including the weeds.  Have a good weekend everybody!  :D busy_lizzie

interestingly the rain showers seemed to last just the length of time it takes to get the washing in!  ::)

weather really frustrating today,  :( can't make up its' mind (I'm in Leicestershire). A colleague at work had her boys sports day today, and as it was due to start......what a sense of timing.
The school cancelled it, they said it was too slippy on the fields, but my colleague sarcastically observed that instead of the sports races they just sent the kids out to play...on the same field the races were to be run on....colleague reckons teachers just didn't want to get wet! (sorry to any teachers reading!)
Cheers all. :)

Hi! It only rained today when I walked to play school with my daughter!!! And when I walked home. And when I collected her!

Wicker

Well it bucketed down here this afternoon (same yesterday it's like monsoons!!)- just when we arrived at the allotment hoping to pick fruit.  I had to pick some or it would have been wasted so tried balancing a brolly on my shoulder and delved in amongst the rasps - you know how they try to hid their fruits under the leaves.  did get almost 5 lbs out tho.  the strawberris have taken a real battering and are just getting made into jam.

Wonderful until about 4 and then....kazam, the heavens opened and down came the rain!  5 minutes later, the sun was back out. 5 minutes later rain again!  Now the sun is out, the sky is blue but the wind is a blowing.  At least we managed to get fish bought for the pond and the shed cleared out.  ;D

Garden Manager

Typical!

It never rains to order does it?

Rains when you dont want it to (ie to go out or work in the garden), then when you want it? NOthing not a drop!!!

well we had no rain on Friday at all, rained all round us but not over us - and I'm what, about 5-6 miles form you?

werid weekend weather wise

On saturday, we were busy looking at pond plants, when the heavens opened with total full force. We dashed under cover and two minutes later it stopped and was bright sunshine again.

Later, the wind nearly blew me into the water when I was deciding on which waterlilly to get.

Yesterday was lovely, warm, sometimes sunny. dry.

today is mostly sunny. I wish I'd taken the day off sick!
gone to pot :D

Garden Manager

We hardly had a drop all weekend, - but enough to prevent us cutting the grass though! A couple of light showers is enough at the moment to make the lawns too damp to cut.

Today here in dorset: a lovely sunny morning  :), though with a fair bit of cloud around. So much for sunshine and showers! More sunshine than showers it seems.

Absolutely stunning double rainbow last night -almost worth driving round the M25 for, very intense coulours and you could see both ends.

Mrs Ava

That is amazing Viv, my waterbutt was bone dry, and now, after the rain on Thursday and Friday, tis full again!  :o  The sky is clouding over again now, and I need to cut the lawn.  I'm not complaining though, thanks to the rain, my toms on the plot are swelling and I picked yet another bag of peas today - my 4th so far, and I still have 2 rows that are only just starting to swell!

new potter

did you find the pot of gold at the end :D

derbex

NO -and we went round 3 times looking for it :o

Ceri

OK, that's enough already - somebody turn the tap off please
