Hope the carrots do O.K. but where did you get your "arches"?

torquil

hi Tim they look healthy enough, good luck with them. were did you get those arches. 8) 8)

it's not called early market for nothing - it should have matured already  ::) but it depends on when you sowed them - if the good weather continues they will carry on growing although their genetics might tell them not to, but even really small carrots can taste wonderful and be put to use as I'm sure you know - I think I'll be fleecing my carrots that are left if the w eather changes to get maximum cropping

My autumn king look similar. Huge tops but hardly anything underneath.

I did some Lidl carrots from seed in summer, they were fine, not too big but a good colour and tasted ok. I made a late sowing at the end of august. These ones however have grown pale though a decent length they are much thinner than the summer ones.

If you fleece them they may have a good chance, but you wont get big ones

I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

tim

Sowed? 29 Aug. Yes - they are fleeced.

Arches? Linkabord. Disappointingly flimsy.

If it stays mild Tim they will no probs...
These were mine same var. sown about the same time last year...

in January (above) and Feb. (below)

;D

Can't hope for that quality. These are Franchi Pariser Markt, sown before the others - lots of top but not a lot below, as yet.

saddad

Aren't they just a round variety like Parmex Tim?

tim

Yes - nothing special - just fell for the packet - idiot!!

Just hope they grow to Parmex size.  Parmex - " No need to peel". I should B well hope not!!

Who ever heard of peeling a fresh Carrot??

saddad

I'm a "scrubber" too but to be fair that fresh they only need a rinse off under a tap!
;D
