Hot pork pie, covered in processed peas.

I've got to eat them when she's out as she refuses to give me peas, and being a misery will nor even 'pull my finger' ;)

More tea vicar. No your not doing the pie justice they've got to be mushy not tinned you want the 24 hr soak ones. Loads of mint sauce or finely chopped onion soaked in vinegar. Roll on Bonfire night.

northener, now that names very apt, as it was on a trip to the wastelands of the north when I started eating this concoction. Mushy peas are not readily availiable down here on the sunny sarf coast as there is nobody poor enough to use them ;D.

So I use the southern nouveau cuisine alternative,  tinned batchelors and a melton mowbray.

Mmmmm mushy peas n mint sauce, a few yonks ago when i worked on the world famous(well it is if ya live in Nottingham) Victoria market there was a stall that sold hot mushy peas n mint sauce, that's all i lived on, food of the gods...that and chips with stew of cause. ;D

Changed my mind again. I have just had hot buttered toast for brekki. Crusty bread and Brittany butter made with sea salt crystals.

bestest tastiest food in the world's gotta be wherever I am in the world when hunger strikes at ANY time of day :o....salami or chorizo, the really dried sort you can stuff in yer back pocket & munch on? Bring it on! Half a pig's trotter, boiled, marinated in Lord know's what, but deffo including chillies, garlic and parsley? ditto.....just gotta remember to not litter the pavements with orl them spat out toenails ::)...any of the pork-based hawker-stall cooked while you wait dishes in S.E.Asia...these are my fave hunger-on-the-hoof snaks I've had....but for all-time all-round fave snak.......bacon sarnie, white bread, DADDIES sauce (well I'm a Brummie girl) - none of that tarty blood sauce muck for me :D

Lindsay

Fresh lightly boiled egg - with dippy soldiers of course!   :P :P

twinkletoes

I'm with Alishka - bacon butty with Daddies - yum.   But also, but not at the same time, fish finger sarnie with salt and vinegar.   Or crispy HOME MADE roast potatoes.  Or my own variation of chorizo sausage pasta sauce.  Or marmite on white bread and butter.   Must just get a cloth and dry the keyboard...... dribbling all over the place here.

MAY THE CORN BE WITH YOU.

The thing with bacon is it smells nicer than it tastes, nice enough to make a veggie break their vows. It's the same as liver and onions, you might hate it, but the aroma when it is cooking smells delish.

Trotters I can go along with but chorizo! wtf is that all about, we've got some hung in the larder, and that's where it can stay. Dirty filthy deigo food, give me hot mucky bread anyday. (toast and dripping)

mc55

home made chips ... guess who just got a fryer.
