Arthur hello and welcome to A4A!
I see that your plot is in East Angela, or the Midlands, rather than the South West but no worries as we all put messages in the wrong place at times! There's nothing like a bit of confusion to keep us on our toes!
Flighty's plot,  http://flightplot.wordpress.com,  is my blog.

Hi.  Lucky you with the river for water.
Its good for  a laugh and info. on here.

Hi Arthur.  Nice to have loads of water, but the problem with rivers is the sometimes you get rather too much.

Nice to hear that more places are joining us here in the SW.  There's a little gentle rivalry with them up north.  So welcome to our team.

Hi Guys

Newbie to the site and our allotment is in Penryn , Cornwall.

There are about 3 fields with at least 40 plots on each...

We have been going 2 years now and its been very rewarding!

Mine is at the Birchen Grove allotments in NW London. It's inside the Welsh Harp Nature Reserve and as you can imagine - glorious.

Anyone looking in from the outside would think we all suffered from some weird disease - or were practising some even weirder religion. Before any cutting into a grassy area we all hop about stamping for about 5 min's to give the frogs, toads and newts fair warning to escape! It's one of the reasons I cut the grass by hand - I have an ongoing nightmare of cutting one of them in half!

I've seen a Sparrow Hawk, Woodpecker's and Parrot's flying about here and it's made all the stranger because we are in the heart of NW London but the traffic is a distant hum and as long as I'm there., I can pretend that ugly old London doesn't exist.

It's my little piece of heaven. The only drawback is 1) I'm not allowed to take my dogs with me and 2) we have a really bad theft problem and unfortunately, I seem to suffer more than most. I thought I was imagining it but I'm not. Last year, someone stole all my Butternut Squash. Every one. The year before, it was all the Sweetcorn and the Broccoli.

All the idiot who runs the site says is that "it's the squirrels". Really? They must be amazing animals, because they wear boots and use very sharp knives to remove the goods!
