How many of you will be watching the BBC coverage of the show this week then? I will. It gets a bit repetitive at times (thank god for Sky Plus!), but i like looking at the gardens and plants.

Will any of you actualy be GOING to the show this week?

Good luck and enjoy yourself! Let us know how it goes and what you think of the show.

PS: I love the look of Chris Beardshaw's Hidcote garden. Gets my vote for best in show.

Going on Weds afternoon for the first time and very excited. Wanted to go for the whole day, but by the time the rota was done at work the all day tickets had sold out, so we are going from3 - 8pm and having a nice lunch beforehand.

Have a good time if you're going I love it.

I've helped put up three displays there now. Although Hampton Court's bigger I still prefer Chelsea.

Enjoy yourselves

Oooooh.I reaaally want to go but need to not take girlies. Would love to go just with my mate but time without kids v.v rare. I hope it's still going when they've left home.  ;D So yep, watching on tv as usual!!

Emmy. I've had to wait until the children are older and can look after themselves - I'm sure it will still be going on for years to come - don't give up!!

I'd give Chris  Beardshaw best in show, whatever his garden's like! ;) I'd love to  go to Chelsea in theory but don't think I could stand the crowds. Will be watching, though.

Twice I have been offered free tickets for today. But I am still doing a 12 hour day, 7 days a week, getting all the plants, props and gear ready for GWL and do not have the time. We were on a short list for Chelsea this year, but nobody dropped out so we did not go. Still the plans have just been drawn up for next years show.

Everybody should go if you can it is a great show and although it can get busy, you can still see everything and marvel at the plants and gardens on show.

I shall be sailing to the north island this weekend to start preparing the ground at the NEC. Two weeks of building, a week of showing off, a couple of days to dismantle then home for a few days before I go to Hampton court for more of the same.  I hope to see a few of you there, ( There are a few volunteers from a4a) so I will be able to put some faces to the names.

cambourne7

i was going to go but ended up forgetting and then it was 2 late to pick up tickets

Ace what are you showing at the NEC?

emmy1978

thanks Tin Shed  ;D Will just be all the better when I get to go! Did Eden with the girls as loads there for kids but wouldn't dream of Chelsea or Hampton with them! ;D

I would love to go - would definitely be up for an A4A outing to Chelsea next year  :) :)

Garden Manager

Lovely idea. Bit of a logistical challenge though.

I'm going on Saturday with mum, really looking forward to it :-)  Bit annoyed that I haven't received my copy of the catalogue yet though, just been on the phone to the RHS and I can pick up a copy when I get there, but it kind of defeats the point of purchasing it in advance so that you can plan what to see  >:(

Does anyone know how the plant sale works i.e. do you barter for the plants or do they have set prices.  Would love to take something home with me as a reminder of the show.

Belinda

It depends on the individual exhibitor. Some want a fixed price others take offers, some will let you reserve something in advance. If you see something you want then make sure you find out from the exhibitor on the stand how they do things.
