Gardeners, crossing the generation gap

Has anyone else noticed that we all seem to muck in together about our gardening tips etc,newbies and oldtimers alike(in gardening experience) but also the oldies and the spring chickens blend so well together generally.

How often face to face do we meet each other on level terms,I don't think very often. In real life the oldies are often patronised with 'there  there' tone of voice,whist the spring chickens get the ' oh they'll learn 'voice.

Not so on here with our gardening chums,we have a laugh, a naughty joke perhaps and nobody seems to notice or care about the usual generation gap.

I think that is kind of nice!!

We probably cover a vast time period and yet we come together with no bias or pre- conceived ideas.

It would be interesting to know just what  time span we all do cover, so I will start, and I hope someone joins in so I am not left standing alone.

Who is our oldest oldie and who are youngest spring chicken, you will have to fess up as listening to us all won't give us away too easily..

Me born 1942

Our allotment community is the same. The other day the age range was from 90 to 2yrs[ well little Joe does sort of help his mum and chats away to us all at tea break!] It does'nt seem to matter who oyu are, how old you are, where you come from or whether you are a newbie or an oldie - we all seem to get on.
Oh  -  1958, nearly forgot [Writing the date down makes me feel old - thats why I don't like filling in questionaires - Ialways seem to have moved up into the next age bracket when I don't feel that old{
