I'm sure there should be an alcohol detector fitted to computers so that when you've had a glass of wine or two you cant go bidding on ebay!

i've just bid on something that i really dont want... and i'm the highest bidder with 1/2 hour to go.

Everyone think positive that someone will outbid me or i will die, have to go to surrey to collect or get my first negative feedback

Done it myself. I get carried away, buy yet another coin, then I really have to stretch the finances, or it's a duplicate of something I already have, and I have to wait ages till I get a chance to swop it.

myOH bid and won some fishing line went to pay for it but his PP was blocked a too late look at his feedback told us why meanwhile I,m stuck no anwer to messages no way of paying for it don,t even want to now e bay are no help they willnot give a straight reply so just have to ignor it and hope he can,t give me bad feedback for not paying as you say GGRRR

eBay are nototiously unhelpful, unfortunately; they won't do a thing unless their reputation is at stake. They've always been quite happy to take profits from crooks.

I'm rather embarrassed to admit that I nearly bought a car on ebay :-[
I was looking for my first car, knew exactly what I wanted and, as they're pretty rare and don't turn up for sale very often, when I spotted one on ebay before I knew what I was doing I'd placed a bid :o
I emailed the seller to ask them about it as it needed a bit of work, and they very kindly talked me out of bidding any further â€" thankfully!!!

No it was a dressing table.  I have the bed and the drawers but during an international move the dressing table went missing so I need it to finish the set.

Funnily enough I was going to bid on a car last week and i wish i had because they sold it before the auction ended so I missed out - a rare car!

Though i couldnt imagine taking the car down the lotty - cream carpets, cream leather... wouldnt stay cream for long lol

we sold our car on ebay, well actualy we listed it and then someone contacted us and we sold it to them privatly as ebay broke half way though the listing and lost my hubbies details but left the car listed DOH with seller 'UNKNOWN' :-)

So we saved outselves the listing fee

But i sell loads of things on my account. I have some other stuff i need to do tonight including some rucksacks which has a cold pocket inside big enough to hold 4 tinnies and some computer bits and some other stuff which escapes me.

OH suggested that this year i save more peas than i need and list them on ebay :-) in starter packs so maybe 6 of a few variaties rather than lots of just one?

We sold our garage on Ebay.

It was an old thing, put up with the house in 1969. It leaked and was well past it's 'sell by date'.

We were having an extension built onto the side of the house and needed to get rid of the garage. Hubby didn't relish the thought of taking the garage down so we put it on Ebay and we got over £100 for it.

I listed it saying that buyer had to dismantle and that as it was panneled, any breakages were down to the buyer.

We are in Leeds and someone from the South Coast came up with a truck, dismantled it and took it away. We were over £100 in pocket, and to think, we were going to pay someone to do it for us!!!

So much fun and very very exciting to be there at the end when people are fighting over your old toot!

Have a petrol strimmer on there at the mo.....hoping it is going to pay for the decking round the pond..........fingers crossed!!  8)

I think though you can retract a bid, I seem to remember having to sort it out last year when an American lass had problems with a bridal gown I was selling, she didn't realise I was in the UK! :-\

I have been "done" buying stuff on there too tho, bought a scanner off someone, it never worked, I mailed again and again to the person, no reply, then they magically were no longer a member! I now NEVER buy electrics from there, and make sure the feedback is at least 99%. (and check to see why it is not 100%!)

We did buy 4 solid pine doors when we got the house last year, poor hubby had to drive to Southampton to get them, but they were such a bargain and you know what it is like when the auction is ending............................................... ::) ;D

I like a dabble on ebay too. Sold some stained glass windows we took out when we double glazed, and recently some Denbyware. £67 for a veg dish :o Have bought lots too, mostly craft stuff.I've been lucky so far.
