Grandma

I bet you can't wait! What a lovely, healthy looking plant! More pics as it opens,  please  :)

(Aren't there a lot of top-class photographers on A4A?)

freesia

It's beautiful.  What type of orchid is it, please.

Mrs Ava

I have no idea Freesia.  I brought 3 of them a couple of years back on the cheapo counter at our local nursery.  No labels, no flowers, but the promise of loveliness.

GREENWIZARD

And now in it's full glory.

Thats just so so lovely Emma.  I remember it from last year and mine was flowering at the same time - no flowers on mine this year.  Its been neglected me thinks, but they are such beautiful flowers.

Grandma

Stunning, Emma! (Fabulous fotos too  :)) Thanks for showing us  :-* :-* :-*

Gardengirl

I am soooo envious Emma.  We have tried to grow orchids  but without success.  I saw on tele recently that you should let the light get to the roots by growing them in a glass pot.  Do you do this I wonder.  Gorgeous photos :)
Happy gardening all...........Pat

Mrs Ava

No Pat I don't.  This beauty resides in a blue glazed terracotta pot in a mix of my own compost and composted bark.  It lives out in the dappled shade by our pond from May until October, then in she comes.  Within a couple of weeks the bud stems start appearing, and hey presto, lovliness. :)  I'm glad you all love her as much as I do.

Congratulations EJ, that is absolutely beautiful.

Cheers,
Rob ;)
