Velvet crabs

I have a box of the above crabbies languishing in my freezer...however...what to do with them??  Does one eat them like regular hardshell edible crabs?  Suggestions please.  ;D

apparently have run out at ours, and all the lobsters have gone too! :(
EJ have given you some ideas, but just incase, hows about crabcakes? Best ones we ever had (before me allergy kicked in :'( :'() were at Legal Seafood in Boston......delish! ;D

How big are they? Easy to get the meat out???

Would love to try lobster but am not sure it they are any good frozen.

Mum buys them and reakons they are great.  I prefer crab over lomsters anyday so don't bother personally.

The velvet crabs are about my hand size DP, so medium sized.  They are already cooked.  Don't know whether to just open and scoop and eat!

Frozen lobster is good but, obviously, not as tasty as fresh lobster.

We had several lobsters from Lidls last year & they were tasty but very small - don't think they should be catching them that size or not according to some programme I saw recently.   Not sure I'd bother with them again.  Cromer crabs are ok from frozen, I'm planning to buy & freeze some for Christmas.

They may well be farmed rather than wild, so size wouldn't be a problem (other than the loss of investment for the farmer by selling them too small).
I'm trying to see if any of the local rivers have American Blue Crayfish in them. Can catch as many of them buggers as I like, for free, and they too pretty good too

Didn't know they farmed lobsters - amazing what you learn here.  Crayfish are yummy & I bleieve considered pests so lucky you having them locally.
