Got my allotment today.

After 2 years of waiting got an allotment, its 4 1/2 rods, would of liked more but the council are dividind the allotments up. Trouble is I'm green at growing veg. Can you tell me what I can put in the ground now to start with, and would I need a clouch.

welcome to the site, like the name,
the only things I think you can grow now, if it stays mild are onions and garlic, if they're under fleece
also you can plant broad beans in a greenhouse, spring onions the same
hopefully, others will have more idea
anyway, have fun with your plot  :)

Over wintering lettuces and spinsch if you are quick and they go under covers. got to put mine out in the cold frame soon

Hello there. You will get all the help you need on here. You can still sew some aquadulce broad beans. They will overwinter and give you a nice crop in the spring to eat with your tatties and bacon. lol. garlic and onion sets should be ok if you get them in now. I wouldn't cloche any of these.  let us see some pics soon. Ive only had a plot since July this year and although in the past we had one this time around is much better cos now we are retired and have the time.
When I get old I don't want people thinking

Have loads of overwinter stuff in Boldie but earlier and I have forgotten the garlic! Have some packets of the Sutton Broad bean to put out at the weekend..
