During the last couple of days, the OH has had serious problems accessing his "my ebay" (amongst other sites) from his pooter.  Access to my ebay from my computer has been erratic to say the least and i've also had major probs getting to other sites as well.

On the ebay forum page, one of the suggestions was that IE7 might have something to do with it and as the OH downloaded that last week, I reckon the finger of blame could well be pointed in it's direction.

Funnily enough, when OH turned his pooter off last night before going out on the lash, mine returned to normal and I was getting super connections speeds to everywhere.

that's enough to convince me that IE7 is the culprit, but i'm going to have to gather more evidence before presenting my case for the prosecution (OH won't use firefox and thinks IE is the dogs, I won't touch IE with a bargepole).

Anyone else having problems since downloading IE7 or any connection problems in general lately ?

Would be interested to see more responses to IE7.
I have had connection probs. but use 'plusnet' who have been brilliant until recent takeover rumours.
Crashes & repeated log ins are currently a nightmare.

IE7 now uninstalled and the problems continue.   :'(

we're currently trying out a new router to see if it's a hardware problem.

oh and we're on UK Online.  If I find out what's causing it, I'll let you know.

Are you on a wireless or static router?

If you are on a wireless router symptoms like these can be caused by some else using the same wifi channel . If that's the case try forcing your router to use a different channel (most default to 6).

If its not the case forget this advice!

Managed to log onto the ebay forum at 5am this morning and ask advice !!!

it would appear there was a nationwide problem at the weekend which was sorted by tea time last night, BT's fault according to UK Online.

Ah well, at least I didn't spend 6 hrs on the phone to UK Online to find out and left it to some other poor suffering soul to do it !

Everything seems to be working AOK now.......... fingers crossed !
