Just had some logs delivered and a chat about knotweed with tree man.
It is in pub car park next door and has already cost them a new wall for us,and still they don't keep up treatment-I do now!It has reared it's ugly head over the road on a verge and there is a large patch 50yds away on the pavement edge which borders the local council plant nursery. All they do is chop it down when it gets so it's difficult to walk past.
He suggested I contact the Enviromental Agency as they should know about it.
I sent them an email and have just had a reply saying under certain circumstances they will charge for a reply!! It is quite difficult to work out which category I come under so I have sent back saying if  they are going to charge me, don't trouble to reply! It will be interesting to see if I do get one. ;D
Smile, it confuses people.

The pavement belongs to the local authority. Inform them of the problem, but make sure you keep a record of your letter/email.

If nothing is done in a fortnight  report them to the environmental agency.
If you still get a negative response then inform your local councillor making it plain that telling the media is your next move.

Oh whats the point! Just email your local tv news story department, they love these little fillers in there early evening news. We already pay the environmental agency in our taxes. Blooming cheek to charge us again.
