I am so excited I have just seen a humming bird moth in the garden and just managed to get a snap of it, not up to Greenwizards standards Im afraid  :)

but interesting all the same.

Georgie I really hope you see one soon they are amazing.

Greenwizard, I have admired your photos so often and even as I was taking the pictures I was thinking  "this is not going to be as good as Greenwizards" lol
I'm quite pleased with it and it is proof that I had one in the garden  :)

Utterly brilliant, Nippie! (Humming bird hawk moth).

I think you will find Yuet Lee posted the first picture of one of these and mine was probably second, but still a superb shot.

Very good pics Nippie.   :D  The humming bird hawkmoth beats its wings so quickly too that it makes it very difficult to photograph.   Well done.   ;D ;D

I take my hat off to anyone who can take a picture of these wonderful moths, I get one on my pink phlox but it flies away every time  I get near it, well done to all /regards shades x :) ;D

Fab pics! Worthy of photo comp entry I think!  I haven't ever seen them in my Essex garden, but saw lots when we holidayed on Greek island many moons ago.  I was terrified at first thinking it was some monster stinging beasty, but soon found out what it was.  Stunning!
