Are useless....

They just spent 12months, and loads of money replacing the old water main trough our village.

This weekend they switched off the old main,

1. They had forgot to connect my Ma & Pa's house to the new main - even though its only 50m from the pumping station...they also forgot to connect another property elswhere in the village.  ::)

2. On the way into work this morning spotted two seperate leaks in the road - coming from where the new pipe has been laid... >:(

Absolute shower of Sh*te..

Maybe they thought if you had a trough you didn't need a water main  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Its a million little things.

My sister lives in London and she says they are an absolute disgrace, and thinks they got off really lightly with the leaks penalty.  It seems crazy to have a private water company raking in huge profits when water is such a basic service. Don't blame people down there for being mad!  >:( busy_lizzie

Unfortunately we are subject to Thames Water. They are apalling!  Huge advertising to tell us e they're stopping leaks - both of which are costing us millions. Why should we be subject to a hosepipe ban if they're allowing millions of gallons to escape?  <grumlbe grumble> ;)

Drove along my normal route to work the other day and there was a geyser of water shooting at least 12ft into the air.  The force of the leak was so strong the tarmac'd pavement had ruptured.

If I see any leak I phone up the relevant authority's leakline (usually an 0800) and report it. If nothing happens in a week (they quote 5 days for council permission to dig up road to be got etc) then I do it again.

One that I reported they had no idea about, and it had been flooding for at least 3 weeks and re-ruptures every 2-3 months. I now don't assume someone else's done it and phone 'em anyway.

There's currently one on my route to work, which is a leaking standpipe: 3 valleys dug a massive hole, made the road a mess then vanished leaving a giant water-filled hole that a kid could easily drown in... I'm sure the people whose house it's outside are hopping mad by now!

the trouble with us in this country is that we have been conditioned into accepting garbage services whilst paying top dollar for them and generally we are all so tired that we accept it as our fate.

far be it for me to act like a radical anarchist  ::) :P but if we all stood up to be counted  and made our lifes work putting the Great back in Britain, our grandchildren might have a country to be proud of.

sorry, i'm having an OTT soapbox moment.

Oh how I agree, its not complaining or moaning its letting them know what is going on and things aren't quite right.
