The trough was buried about 2 foot down under where the woodland path is to go.
As you can see the weight left tracks in the grass.
In position, then  settled into the gravel.
Planted up and its overall position.
Not bad for a days work eh?

What a fabulous find Eric.  How come I only ever find broken bottles or old bits of broken ming china.........Bir..ming..ham.It looks beautiful planted up and placed with the other troughs.   Do you think they are breeding? ???
Take time to stop and smell the flowers.

I'm wondering why Eric was digging two foot deep foundations for a woodland path ???

tim

 - to lay the twiggy bits that wouldn't go on the compost heap? Or he's been given a metal detector?

And BB - why aren't you on the map? = Tim

I was following a nettle root down wards and one end of the sink was only about a fork depth below ground level. In this garden we have learned to investigate whenever we hear the dreaded 'clang' when digging.

Nearly as good as a pot of gold Eric.
