mr plasma

we had a break in last night.just pure vandalism nothing pinched!
why oh why do they do it,i just don't understand.15 sheds ripped open ,greenhouses smashed, plants ripped up and so on.
i have only been on the site 1 week and have nothing but bare ground. but the guy next to me has a 20ft long greenhouse full of pelargonium cuttings all up turned and labels removed. to see a 50 year old man in tears is no way to start the weekend. the police dont appear to be too concerned either :(

Breaking into sheds is a common thing on our site, they pinched my spade and fork which were cheep ones but I even have a sign up saying nothing of value inside but makes no difference.
But they have never pinched my first aid box or damaged my plants growing.
have lost pumpkins and strawberry fruites but left the huckleberries mostlikey thought they were poisonious.
Police here are not interested either give you a incendent number and thats it they more complaints they get they recon the more police men they can get for the aera but as for comming to see you or investigating no joy.
Next door is a neighbrough hood watch chap but when someone stole his car keys from car on drive and his garage got broken into and he just got a incedent number he was not amused. Before he would stick up for the police but now he does not and started talking about neighbrough hood groups setting up vigalient groups. Case of D.I.Y. policing

how depressing mr plasma, its heartwrenching to think of the old guy next to you putting all that love and effort into his greenhouse only to have all his work trashed for no reason at all. its just so mindless.  what kind of kick can they get from that ?  i have two children of my own and it makes me dispair of the world i have brought them into sometimes.

busy_lizzie

I always hate to see this title to a post - so heartwrenching and senseless and really makes your blood boil!  It is coming up to that time of year, that we dread too - the summer holidays!!! :o :o  We are lucky to get away with no breakins and vandalism, once the schools are out. My sincere commiserations mrplasma.  >:( busy_lizzie

bring back nation service. there not children doing this there scum of the earth , even if the police could do anything they would only hand them out an asbo.

make them return to the crime they did and fix it and make them dig the plots for everyone, then they might understand the love and time that goes into working on a plot who knows they might even enjoy it or learn something.

it might make them think next time.or would there be a next time.
were my heart is down at the plot

I used to stick up for the police but no more. Our area is overun with vandels, last night it went on untill the early hours of the morning. Where were the police ? in the back room of the Tredegar Arms Pub drinking. They are there most nights and as far as Im concern the police are just as bad as the vandels we have to put up with.

kitty

hahahahaa!sarah!nothing really to forgive!lol!
y'know-i can remember being 18 and knowing a friend who was 31 and thinking-how the hell do you get that ooooold?hahahahaha!

the police havent been any good for years, there isnt enough respect these days, they should bring back national service, caneing in schools. We had been vandalised a couple of years ago, all they did to us was empty the shed into the wildlife pond, they must get some kick out of it when they are high on drugs n drink. I bet the 50 year old man wants to throttle them. But the police wont catch them, if they do it will be a caution only. If they do get a sentence then they get better treated in prisons, 3 squares a day watch tv etc, they should feed them bread and water, no tv, and give them a huge boulder to smash into pea gravel with a toffee hammer. This country is too soft on criminals

H'mm, how am I supposed to deal with bullying in school if I'm going to get the cane out and do a spot of it myself? I don't think that was a very helpful tradition, allowing teachers to use routine violence against pupils. It legitimised it.

But total sympathy to Mr Plasma's neighbours. I've been on the recieving end myself, and it's an appalling feeling.

These threads keep popping up, it is so sad and I see no end to it as long as we have "Chavs" they are here and will be hard to eradicate, I don't know where they are bred but appear to emerge out of the ground, no one will admit to owning one, they can been seen mainly on council estates, they appear to be alien and a waste of space. :D

Poor you & your neighbours - it must be soul destroying. I think it's something other than kids high on "drugs & drink" though. I was a bit of a wild child, and must have tried every chemical way of escapism whilst growing up. We bunked off school & got up to all sorts of mischief. But I never took pleasure in destroying other people's hard work, because from an early age I'd been taught to respect other people & their beliefs/ways of life. Oh, well I did set fire to my parents straw shed but that wasn't the intention & at least it was kept in the family.

So, as said earlier, birching FOR THE PARENTS has to be the way ahead. Scum!

I am sorry to hear about the vandalism on your site. As a person who has been on the recieving end of vandalism and theft I understand how you feel. Why o why do the idiots have to mess up peoples hardwork. All I can say is I hope what comes around goes around and the little blighters get what they deserve!

Keep ya chin up and dont let them beat you!

We have just taken on an allotment again after a 5 year break. We gave up last time because of vandalism. We had a small wildlife pool on our lottie to encourage the frogs and toads and one morning we arrived to see the pond foaming with the contents of the greenhose tipped in it. I'm afraid it's a sad world we live in. This time we have decided that we are not gonna let these individuals spoil things for us. We have nice spikey plants growing all around our site and I have just planted a pyracantha in the corner of my plot to deter a young lad from clmbing the fence. We now have a police officer on our allotment commitee so hopefully we may get a bit of support from that area.
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

We dont get too much bother on our allotments, a few crops pinched now and then - but that might not be kids of course..

Some passing chav's stopped and tried to break into my Mini parked near the allotment once, but i chased them off with one of these,

http://images.acmehardware.com/200x200/2612034.jpg - the look on their face's as i appeared from the bushes shouting and wielding this at them was classic.

I reported them to the police as the car they were driving would have be easy to spot (White Metro with a St. George's cross hand painted on the roof - nice) but heard no more about it.

The main problem we have is with natures own vandle's - pigeons - but at least you can shoot them.

A guy I know - a chef - heard two men trying to break into his car (MX5) late at night.  He ran down stairs, hurtled out the door waving a meat cleaver overhead and yelling in his broad scottish accent.  They fled, obviously, but it's anyone's guess as to whether this was down to the blade or the fact that he was (in his words) starck b*ll*ok naked...

Keef, what is that curly fork for and where did you get it? :o :o ???

The one up the allotment was my Grandad's, although I do have a spare which was given to me (by Greyhound).

Its a Drag or Cultivator, i use it loads and prefer it to the normal three pronged type as it goes in the soil further and is wider so a little quicker..handy for weeding preparing beds and threatening yobs etc..

you're right roy.  i think the parents are just as bad as the wee neds.  i don't think they want to know or care what their little thugs are out there doing, as long as they're out of their hair every night they're quite happy.

the gene pool must be so diluted these days, not one ounce of intelligence, respect, or sense of responsibility to be had.  when i see/hear the sentences handed out these days it's no wonder.  there's no deterrent in this country anymore.

don't you find it odd that with the amount of CCTV cameras all over the place, they can never find the one piece of footage you're particularly interested in.   ???

i read an article the other day where something or other was burned down by "firebugs" ......... erm, isn't that another term for "arsonist" ?  it's about time we started calling a spade a spade again and all this "softening down" .

but who's going to sort it ?  not bliar, he's too busy helping his friends bomb the sh[t out of whoever gets in bush's way.  but that's another topic.

we're all preaching to the converted here.

i really must get that web cam set up and trained on my car though.
