Just doing that thing which amuses non-gardeners, walking about the conservatory talking to myself and looking at all the plants, doing a bit of tidying here, bit of watering there... and spotted a telltale web on a stephanotis.

RSM is back. Grumble. Moved the offending plant into quarantine (the house proper) and now will have to watch like a hawk to see if they've got off the tropicals and onto the cues and aubs, and order a spot-treatment of predators if necessary.

*sigh* Just when I've just got another strelitzia to grow, too.

We did a 100% check yesterday & found one!! But quite a few aphid on the Aubs. So I'm giving it another week & damping down several times a day.

Don't they move quickly? Always thought they were quite sedentary.

yes, I found aphids on my chillies. They seem to have appeared out of nowhere. Tapped them all off onto a tile and squashed them, and the soft soap will have to trundle home from the lottie at some point. I've got a couple of the BBC trial ones - numex twilight and fiesta, and I think they were the vectors. Can't trust these pro growers!

Gggrrr, we get them in the conservatory without fail.  They adore the Strelizias over everything!  I now have a little water feature type thing which my nan and grandad bought  me for my birthday and I keep it in the conservatory turning it one when it is super hot as it splashes a little....I tell myself this is helping the humidity which should help slow down RSM rampage!

MB, those non gardening types have no idea what they are missing.....says the girl who apologised to a plant today that she cut back a little hard by accident!
