Bargain or what?

Went to a `garden Centre` today-not something I am fond off,but got some bags of mushroom compost at £1 20p-and it`s live-got to be worth it for the mushrooms I will get. Yes it full of mycelium whatnot and growing mushrooms even in the bag.

Cool!  Have tried those mushroom boxes and never harvested more than a few!  All round the Stephans for mushrooms on toast!  :P

I too have tried them EJ.....not worth the effort it took!! Plus got loads of those nasty little flies >:(  Def round to Stephans!

Tried them too. Not much cop! Got me some spawn to sow when I get me hot-bed sorted out. I'll be dead chufed if I get ONE.

I bought one of those rip-off oyster mushroom straw kits for a small fortune. So far it has some that look rather a lot smaller than the ones from the shop. Haven't eaten any yet. But I'm hoping to be able to make mushrooms and garlic on toast for one at the weekend!

I tried one of those box kits- nice taste but didn't get much for my £6. Has anyone tried those kits for growing them on toilet rolls?
