Am off to France for a week on saturday! Yes, I am excited...but what about the plot???? Next door plottie has promised to water the greenhouse and I know I can trust her, but I am so worried about everything else! I will miss the plot almost as much as my cats, how sad is that?!

Yes enjoy yourself but do understand what your are saying becaus I am just the same. When I came back from Kent lat week I had the choice to see my mom and dad or go to lottie?????? I did go to mom's but......
Everything will survive with out you have a great time.

We are of to France on Friday!! Our friends escaped the rat race three years ago, and are now living in Brittany, we are with them for a week, can't wait. :) :) :)

Its a real worry leaving the lottie - I'm going on a dancing holiday in July, but unfortunately I now have a business trip sandwiched in the middle, which means I'll be away for 3 weeks, so I think I'll cancel the 2nd bit of my holiday so that I'm only away for 2 weeks.

Whereabouts are you going ?  my favourite bit is Ville French, just down the coast from Monaco and the Alps.

Not been on holiday to France for several years now, but it brings it all back, the excellent gites, the impossible language barrier, the impossible gendarmes, the excellent wines, food, and outstanding hospitality ...

I am going to stay in a gite just south of Bergerac, it looks gorgeous in the pics, out in the countryside with views across a small valley. Lots of wildlife and birds to watch, lots of peace and quiet and our own pool! I am looking forward to trying all the local food and shopping at the markets each day, have done my research and there is a market every day within driving distance! Been brushing up my lamentable French, but suspect i will be ordering some stupid things at some point! Its a great area for growing, so will be on the lookout for French lotties, if I find one, there will be pics!! lol

not been on one since the old king died, largely due to moving cities once and residences three times in the last year or so.  think my wanderlust days are done and dusted cos tbh, if the weather we're having this year carries on as it is ..... why go anywhere else ???   ::)

i am having a sleepover at my friends at the end of June though, just for one night, and i'm not looking forward to being away from my babies one bit !!  i really do have trouble going to work in the morning and leaving them for a day, let alone for a week or more !!   :o

Thanks everyone! Will be taking lotsa pics, just looked at weather forecast for the area and it looks like thunder and rain in Bergerac! Pics will be mainly lightning and clouds!

Charlies great niece moved to France last year, her husband has bought a tunbledown house and they are "doing it up" .He did a couple of houses in England. Don't know the area but part of her address is  Vendee. Now her Mum and Dad ares going out there to live on 9th August. I don't know if they are going to same place.They both retire from teaching in July. Have already got invitation to have holiday with them. Going IOW on Sat but guess it will be France next year ;D ;D
