Awwww you lovely people! Thank you so much for birthday greetings, I have a lovely warm glow and a silly grin all over my face after reading your posts. No chance of keeping my first half century secret then Carol 8) :)

I've had a lovely 50th. Beautiful sunny day here in Peterborough, band music floating in through the windows from Easter processions. Potted up early squash. New washing machine delivered 9am. The old one - together with the oven - was blown up by a 450 volt surge last week, blue flashes and everything :o so the power company have got me new ones.  Men surprised to find they had to carry delivery up two flights of stairs :P. Had chum over for brunch, bringing flowers, fruit, vinca, loo rolls, jam jars and two bags of squelchy compost for the giant pumpkin. We lay on the floor removing transit bars and twisting foot nuts to level up machine on my slopey floor. Arranged birthday treat with chum - we will go on a Wildlife Gardening course together in May. After she left, mowed lawn in communal garden. After mowing, noticed 18 ft long leylandii hedge needed trimming. Started to trim hedge. Plumber arrived and installed washing machine. Finished trimming hedge. Noticed weeds. Weeded. Swept up, and got in for nice relaxing bath, and found your messages ;D ;D ;D Perfect!

Son and his girlfriend will arrive about 7pm to round off a delightful day. I hope everyone had as good a time today, look forward to reading all about it ;D

And the sun is still shining!
