Victorian cloche plans

Hi, I have for many a year envied the lucky souls who can afford the lovely square cast iron Victorian cloches. I then had a bit of an idea that could ultimately end up as a waste of time but who knows! I thought that as I am handy with the old woodwork tools I could have a go at building one! To save some time I was wondering if anyone has ever come across plans on a website anywhere. I have googled and used all my regular plan sources but to no avail. Any comments would be appreciated.

you could work out your own dimensions from the three that they give.

e.g. width of 550mm, 5 uprights at 26mm each = 130mm, 550-130=420mm, four panes of glass = 420mm, each pane = 105mm, or any basic size you wish. ::) ::)

I wouldn't mind having a go at one of those myself. The pic in Mike's link is needlessly ornate (no reflection on you Mike ;D), but I too 'have a good set of tools'. If I ever got round to it, I'd probably want to incorporate some means of folding it flat or dismantling out of season, but as a project, it doesn't look too difficult. In the past, with similar things, I've built a scale model from (say) card, first to make sure the geometry's ok.
