what can I do with lemons?

(there were three in my veg(?) box yesterday ???)

Problems:
we don't eat meat
we don't eat pudding/sugar
we don't eat fatty/greasy/creamy food

I only ever use lemons on roast potatoes and curry. That'll use one - what can I do with the other two?
gone to pot :D

I am one of those rare individuals who actually enjoys eating lemons.

Tea with lemon?

Added to salads?

Fresh lemonade?

Keep the rind, grate and put in a bowl in your kitchen and bathroom to freshen the air ...
The impossible is just a journey away ...

take one mug  of raw cus cus and add the following ingredients:

juice of two lemons
one tin tomatoes
chopped spring onion
a handful of chopped mint

stir well and leave for half an hour. add a good slug of olive oil and fluff up well.
have with salad and baked spuds. yum. :)

you can add other bits to this like chopped apricots or pine nuts.

if you live anywhere near a good asian supermarket youcan buy large bags of cus cus much cheaper than the small packets you get in english supermarkets.

I squeeze them into curries too, also for salad dressing (keeps well in fridge), mixed with onion and fresh coriander for a fresh raita, juice and/or grated rind strewn over hot green veg (spinach now), cold remedy with honey (and optional whisky) :D

That's my girl!  ;) ;D ;D

Slice them, lay them on a tray and freeze them.  Once frozen, tip the slices into a bag for use as and when, or juice them and freeze the juice in ice cube trays for use as and when or make lemon curd or I am with the real lemonade - delicious!

Hot_Potato

lovely to squeeze fresh lemon over fish dishes - i.e. poached salmon (which I had tonight) or use the juice to make your own salad dressing (instead of vinegar) much nicer anyway......

slice of lemon in vodka & tonic - lovely!

Mrs Ava

aaah, but the lovely aqui is teetotal.  Mind you, when I was pregnant, lemon in a large glass of tonic with a few chunks of ice was almost (note I said almost) as good as a proper g&t.  :-\

Hot_Potato

ooooops  ::)....hadn't realised....and I've only been introduced to Vodka in last month or so!!....not sure yet if it suits me cos....anything I pour over the level of the 2 ice cubes sitting in bottom of tall thin glass....makes me go all 'sort of weird'.....tingly numb lips & arms....& that's with a good slosh of tonic added (plus the lemon ;)

so maybe it's not my tipple - mind you....my favourite 'Croft Original' does the same if I dare to have two!!...oh but how I love it - straight from the fridge :P

Lemon juice is also good as a non-chemical cleaner for chopping boards etc.

And great for getting rid of those brown spots on the back of hands ;D
