To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and time to die: a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted.     Ecclesiastes, 3:1-2

-1.0 here too Keef, had hoped to do some digging today but will be baking instead - the digging would be much healthier!

Larkspur

The clods of rough dug soil are frozen solid on my lotty and even the soil under a thick tarpaulin is frozen, first time I've seen that for some years.  :(

-2 in my part of Exxex at 4.30 when I went to collect number one daughter from her club.  Even my chilly bits were chilly!  ::)

It's pretty cold in Birmingham. They promised us a cold one, and they weren't far off, though we haven't had anything really notable yet. It just goes on being cold.

It's been very cold all week here in Sowerby Bridge, but I have been digging  every day. I am trying to finish a plot for a friend as he repaired my hut and rebuilt it. You scratch my back....

Yes, it was -1'C today.
Had a good day, can you believe? mowed two lawns for a friend who has the 'Green Thumbs? organ. waiting for the third treatment of the grass? They said it needing cutting before they could 'scarify' & 'airait'.
There was light snow falling, but the exercise was welcome.
Waiting with interest for the results!

In East Sussex I went to pick up daughter from Chemistry tutoring (don't ask we are re-mortgaging to get her through her "a"levels!) and I needed to clean my windscreen, pushed the spray water thingy and it all froze on me windscreen! :o

Havn't stepped out the door for three days beacsue of a flu/virus thing!  :( Im 'on the mend though'! Dan :-)  ;D

Get well soon Dan2!  My OH and I are recovering from flu too  Had mine since a week last Thursday and my OH is in the middle of his bout and just got over the fever part.  Perhaps it is just as well the weather is so cold outside here too, so we are not tempted to do any gardening.  The birds are making a heck of a noise though and it was light at 5.00 pm last night, so at least we are makig some progress.  The ponds in the back garden have been frozen for a week but noticed this morning that at last they have melted, so it must be warmer even though it doesn't feel like it. busy_lizzie

Have a raw onion sandwich, and a glass of sloe gin that'll shift it.

It'll make sure you don't catch anything else - nobody'll come near you! :)
For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else.
