Wow Gardener - what an excellent example!  How is the cold shade caused?  I haven't noticed an example like this in our garden, but now I have seen your piccy, I shall look with a more educated eye!   ::)

My entire garden looked like that this morning - trouble with a small garden with high fences - all of it is a frost trap.

I saw some more great examples from the train this morning - frost in the tree shadows, but not elsewhere. looks kinda pretty really!
gone to pot :D
