Hi everyone,

not been around much recently - busy with the obvious festivities of the season etc....

Just popped on to let you know that Manuel (of the wine thread!) is finally making an honest woman of me - we got engaged on Christmas Day!  :) :)

Going ring shopping tomorrow - he got a bit daunted by the whole choosing it thing on his own, so I currently have an engagement bracelet instead.

Hope everyone else had a lovely Christmas and all the best for 2006!

Hi everyone,

Thanks very much - it is v. exciting! I woke up at 7.30 am and started practicing a new signature!

Wardy - don't panic - he knows I am a cheeky monkey! Been living together for 3 years and he still wants to marry me  ;D

Manuel is a puffer fish, so the children will be very interesting!  ;D ;D

Now - must go read that thread about people already having their seed potatoes... bit worrying... thought I wasn't meant to get them till Feb....... missed the boat again I guess..... shucks!! ;D

Awww, what a lovely romantic way to do it too ...

Congratulations! Have fun with the ring hunt! And don't forget if you don't find exactly what you really want, you can find a manufacturing jeweller and get one made :)

(And don't worry about the spuds - I won't get mine till end Jan and then chit them till mid-March which is the earliest you can plant outside in the UK, really)

Congratulations Daisy.  Great news and what a wonderful 'present'.

As for potatoes I have forgone getting them early as I won't plant them until March anyway to ensure frosts missed...
Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!

congratulations, and only an A4A addict would be thinking of spuds before rings ::)

Don't go mad on the new signature; Namissa used it on the wedding certificate and had to cross it out and sign it again. We were only the tenth couple to be married in my church, despite it's having been built in 1968; the stupid design makes it quite unsuitable. My great dream is to knock out the back wall, which has a large hall behind it, and put in a partition, it would make all the difference.

Thank you everybody for some really lovely replies. We have been ring shopping today, and Daisymay is really pleased with her sparkler.
I just hope shes takes it off before starting all the heavy digging, I dont fancy a fingertip search of a manure covered allotment!

Manuel . Congratulations  must have made Christmas extra special for you both.
Re gardening with rings on. I lost a  half sovereign ring in the garden somewhere about three years ago I am still looking for it. Honest.
