Hi.
Many of you may be aware of the long, ongoing, crazy saga of Skimmingdish allotments near Bicester Oxon... we had a fair bit of press earlier in the year when the church threatened us with legal action if we didn't leave. well, now the district council, the planning authority, has refused the application to build there, we need to keep the pressure up. Thanks to the team in Newcastle with their petition, we too have an online petition, which we'd be delighted if you would visit via our (partly refurbished but by no means finished) website: www.savetheplot.co.uk

thanks

Have signed up FL!  Pity that they ploughed through your plots with the digger.  How would the Diocese feel if developers did that through one of their churchyards before any planning consents had been given?  This is what happened at those church owned lotties in Somerset and that is what finally inflamed the lottie holders, and made them so angry that those previously not active were so enraged at the wanton vandalism to their plots, that they joined the fight and won

Good luck with it all.  I'm fighting the church up here who are trying to turn a massive field into a housing estate.  They've appealed to John Prescott.  Wonder what his ruling will be.  I can guess  :(

I assume 'the church' is the Anglicans; it had better not be the Methodists!

Hopefully we are featuring in the Daily Telegraph tomorrow, re the sad story of losing our plots. Took pic of me this PM over there, looking glum, fingers crossed it gets in ... Christine Walkden from Christine's garden (BBC2) has signed the online petition, and  I have to say Monty is a top Don for all the support he has given us on this one over the past few months.
