Oh Val - what an absolute cutie, she's adorable :)  The best advice I could give is to take her to puppy socialisation classes if you have one near to you.  Our vet hospital has puppy parties every now and then, not that I have taken my two - I took them to regular training sessions.  Puppy socialisation classes are really good fun.  It's lovely to see all the different breeds, large and small all getting to know one another.  Would agree with Merlins Mum about giving treats for doing wees, just lots of praise usually does the trick.

Don't forget to keep us up-to-date with her progress - lots of piccies please ;D

Sounds like one of those stories you see on the news where they have loads of dogs and they are all neglected.  End up being prosecuted, fined and banned from keeping pets.  Personally think they should be tied up outside in January wearing just a pair of pants.

Personally RC I wouldn't let them have the luxury of a pair of pants, I'd tie them up starkers!

BAGGY

My friend had a rescue dog called Rusty.  Whenever she picked up a broom or the hoover tube he wet himself because he was beaten as a puppy.  How sad is that ?

Ours was a rescue dog too, left locked up alone in a room 23hrs a day then rehomed 8 times ( now 12yrs old) , hates being inside now will only come in when dark/raining/snowing so have had to buy a dog kennel/run and fill it with hay,he sits in there happy as larry... like a huge rabbit .. has the run of the back garden (hence need an allotment) then will come into house when he has decided he has had enough, then 6.30am on the dot whines to be let out again ..strange

lorna

Lorna's little rescue dog Peppy a cross yorkshire terrier was neglected. The woman had six taken away from her. Lorna has him trimmed every few months and he looks a completely dog. Loves Lorna (and Josh to bits)
Peppy on my sofa.

He was rehomed 8 times as he trashed furniture when he was left alone            ( whole 3 piece suites shredded, carpets pulled up , door scratched/chewed etc) eventually ended up with RSPCA who would only rehome him to household where someone was with him, then someone suggested perhaps he was just too tramatised by the neglect and to let him go where he wanted to go .....which he does and he's fine ..

Yeaah, I kow you're right, I've resisted for years!! Can just imagine it is all, but I know the reality would be very different, one day though!! I'd love to get a rescue dog I had a lovely rescue cat, called George, blind as a bat......loved him to bits. Now have Bobby who just comes in vomits and leaves...... ::)

Yes, Dogs are absolutely adorable, we had an old english sheepdog, mad as a hatter, would lick you to death, but then his bad side came out. Really good at yacking up, then scoffing it again, and wait until he farted ...

My cat erm does that, then wanders away as if has no idea where that hideous noxious smell came from.... ::)

My dogs a bit like your creepy relative.  He's rescue too and a bit of an enigma.  Just doesn't really do emotions and very hard to fathom.

He does shout at you sometimes

going to try to post another pic...I've lost 2lb in weight...mind you I needed to..the biscuits I'm using are the puppy training bits, tiny little things, they can also be used as a food. When she goes out properley next week, they won't be used so much, she'll follow our other dog , but at the moment they've been useful for getting her to return to us, along with the cuddle and praise. We've never had a puppy before , we've always got our dog from repreive.anyway here goes.House work has gone out the window for a while so everything is rumpled and crumpled. ;D   oops much too big again..I'll have to try another way.

I'll have to learn a bit more about taking good pics, also posting them on here...its taking me ages.

Help please, the puppy seems to be very jealous of our other dog, you'd think it would be the other way round, any ideas how to curb this? They both get lots of love and attention but any given to the older dog is met with growls and yaps by the puppy.
