Be kind to slugs and snails!

Mrs Ava

Wish I could get them to grow!  Wouldn't mind the bugs if I could just get them to grow!!

EJ  My brother has been having the same prob but wise old sage on plots told him to forget early sowings and sow them late in the year.  We had a look at packets we'd got and found we could sow All Year Round as late as Sept so that's what we've done.  I'll let you know how we get on  :)
I came, I saw, I composted

Ive tried the Early's no good these are the mid & will put some over winter to pick in spring which hopefully will not bolt & will be bug free.

I give mine tons and tons of water, and loads of compost to gobble, so far so good, but could be blind luck! Lottie

Just germinated a tray full of cauli All Year Round.  Hoping to transplant them into fibre pots and put them in the cold frame.  Not sure when to put them in the lotty though.

I have done all year round  all the time & this the first time Ive Had any luck.
I don't know if its to do with  the change in in the wether that stopped them from bolting or just luck .
But have now got about 30 of them getting bigger all the time.

Likewise!    I inherited some overwintered cauli-plants and hawd some great heads so thought I'd plant smoe myself.  Out of 8 plants had 3 heads the size of a tennis ball at best so have decided to forget summer sowings in future!     Mind you I have planted a winter variety to see how they do so fingers crossed.....

Neil (The Young Ones) once said "You plant the seed, the seed grows, you harvest the seed....You plant the seed....."   if only it was that simple!!!
