Can anyone put a name to these?  Unfortunately the labels have miraculously vanished!

Hey EJ, no idea about 1st, not very certain about 2nd!! But 2nd was does resemble the swan gourds I grew, but quite immature ones? Could they both be types of gourds? Best guess anyway!! Good luck. Lottie

Hi EJ.  Absolutely no idea really, except in 1st photo, could it be an immature harlequin and in 2nd photo if not swan gourds as suggested by Lottie then possibly immature trombolinos.  Just guessing really.

Mrs Ava

Ah, Jill, I wondered about trombolinos, but then I have harvested what I thought were trombolinos and they were different!  Must must must sort my labeling out!

Jill

Know the labelling prob only too well, EJ :(.  My carefully labelled butternuts magically prduced nothing but pumpkins this year.  No idea what sort though - just big and orange.

Here's a piccie of my trombolinos last year, if it's any help.

Mrs Ava

hmmm, you know, that could well be them!  So what are the monster long green ones I picked then??  Hey ho, tis all part of the great adventure known to us as Extreme Allotmenteering!  ;D

Thanks for the pic Jill - you is a star!

Doris_Pinks

EJ I think the monster long green ones are nice long?  I know I planted some and mine seem to be going paler, but of course somthing has nicked the label!!

Debs

Gawd Jill,

Have you got a trombolina dish to put those babies in?? ;D

Debs

Jill

Lol, Debs.  Shouldn't that be Gourd rather than Gawd? ;D

Well those were some of last year's harvest, seeds from which produced EJ's babies.  The flesh went into gallons of squash and lentil soup which we'd finished by February.  About to make another vat full with this year's squash crop.

Mrs Ava

Don't ask, but whenever I see the word trombolina, I always start singing............

'Trombolina trombolina, tiny little thing....trombolina dance, trombolina sing.......oh trombolina, what's the difference if you're very small, in my heart that's full of love your 9 feet tall'

Doris_Pinks

Now who's daft!  ;D  ;D  ;D    (I think the same too!)
