Apart from the little incident of finding my plot's back fence burnt down by vandals today, it has been a glorious day, weatherwise.  We have had beautiful blue skies, not a cloud amongst it and hot weather.  Just worked in my t shirt and was even tempted to put some sun block on. Can't imagine any more days like today this year.   :) busy_lizzie

Sorry to hear about the fence BL  :( We spent most of today putting a fence up on our friends plot as they had their shed broken into last night and their tools stolen. They did get their fork back... the kids (we know who they are) had used it to break into the next door shed and steal their bike.  >:(

Back on topic...
I like the anticipation of autumn, seeing the ground becoming ready for planting in spring.
Make the most of today, because you'll never have it back again.

Glad to see you are keeping your chin up BL - you re not having alot of luck at the moment are you, first the pumpkins now your fence  :D :D

If you don't make mistakes, you'll never make anything!

Blimey BL, never rains it pours!  Lovely colours Tim.  The kids have started collecting colourful leaves, conkers and acorns galour, and now the cotoneaster and pyracanthas are full of berries and looking sexy!  Gorgeous balmy weekend in our part of Essex.  Chums came for Sunday lunch today, we were going to go out for a long country walk, but they were sure it was going to rain today...not a cloud in the sky all day!!

Lovely balmy afternoon on the plot so got a bit of clearing up done. My seedlings are looking promising so gave them a feed.  Started dismantling the bean rigs which is a bit sad I always think.  I didn't leave the plot til after 5.00 and it was still lovely and warm.

Back to reality this morning - all housework and no lottying.  Lotty programme on this week folks so don't forget  :)

I sadly dismantled my squash/pumpkins frames yesterday and put all the vegetation on the compost heap.  Had  a small pumpkin and a tiny but perfectly formed one left.  Gave the small one to my daughter who came for a visit to our plot and on the way home saw a little girl with her parents pushing a teddy bear in a toy pushchair, so gave her the tiny one for her teddy.  You should have seen the expression on her face, it was a picture of delight.

The area where my squash/pumkins were looks huge now that it is bare.  Looks like another nice day outside, have to pop over to see whether I have anything left on my plot and block the big gaping hole I have.  Thanks for the sympathy all and have a nice day everyone.   :) busy_lizzie

The plot is looking a bit bare after all the pumpkin and courgette foliage gone  :(

I said hello to a new plotty and his wife yesterday in passing them to get to my plot.  he spoke but she never turned round.  She must have heard me as she was standing right next to her husband.  Funny bugger!
