Romanesco problems

I expected to have harvested my Romanesco by now but some plants have no 'head' as far as I can see, whole others have one that would yield about two bites!  They look right; all a beautiful green and spirally - just tiny!  Any ideas on whether I keep waiting, or whether I  should call it quits with them this year?  If the latter, any ideas on what I did wrong?

None of my Romanesco have got heads yet either, but I am pulling them off my purple sprouting when I do not want them yet.

Are they all T&M freebies from GYO?  Might mean you get what You (don't) pay for but does not do T&M much good either - my freebie carrots failed and the butternbuts just did not happen.

Yep, they were free with GYO.  Freebies seem a little variable, but mostly have been fine.  I figure I probably haven't fed, watered, doctored, sung to them right  :)

Got one small head off today as we've never actually eaten it and I'm determined to at least get a bite so I can make a decision about next year.

Some that I gave to my dad have started to head up and he planted his way after mine and has partial shade  ???.  He did though solve my spring greens/cabbge problem by gifting me nearly 40 seedlings - nice man my Dad.

This is my second picking of 'romanesco' off one plant. It was very difficult to pick and I'm not sure how much more I will get. My seeds were also from GYO and the germination was fine and the plants look really healthy.

I too have failed with the GYO free seeds, very small heads etc.  :(
