I read around this board quite widely and the only 'incident' I saw involving Eric (& Amphibian I think) was just something about nothing. I don't want Eric to leave - and I put that on the record first time around - but I think he's old enough to make up his own mind whether he contributes here or not. I'm still a bit baffled about the Derek thing too: but I'm glad he's back and battling through whatever it is...

I may be a thick-skinned Yorshireman, but can we just lighten up a bit? Anyway, if people start forming huddles I won't know which way to jump because I like you all!! :)

Thinking about it ::) If I wanted to leave a site I would just leave quietly, no announcements no fuss just leave I have done this so many times that I can't remember ::) but the irony of it is that I can go back to those sites as and when ever I please, if necessary I can go back under a different name so what's the big deal. ::)

Good manners dictate that I should respond to these postings and the Pm's which I have received. I am humbled and flattered by the warmth and good wishes expressed. Like Derek I am extremely surprised that so many people would take the trouble to send messages asking me to reconsider my decision to give up on this site.

Before anyone  goes searching for people who may have 'upset' me with postings, let me say that I cannot think of one in particular which has really caused me any problems. And if there was I am quite capable of fighting my own battles.  Perhaps I have been over-sensitive, but for a while I have felt that the 'tone' of the site has become a little unpleasant. I cannot explain it any better than that, I am sorry to say. As has been pointed out, perhaps it is the' silly season' and things will pick up as the regular posters return from their Allotments. I certainly hope so. There are a fair number of 'missing persons' at present.

Also I posted about leaving the site at the end of a particularly bad day, the kitten had been missing for 48 hours (and she is MINE, and she has returned unharmed), I was in a great deal of pain and probably not really thinking straight (pain killers have that effect sometimes) and Derek (whom I regard as a good cyber-friend) said he was leaving. All in all not a good time to be posting at all really.

Anyway, I hate to be one of those people who seem to vacillate. I prefer to make a decision and stick to it, but rather than lose so many friends I shall continue to bore you all rigid with my garden pictures and profer useless and erroneous advice on subjects about which I know little or nothing and just occasionally toss in a controversial posting just to get everybody stirred up.
