Tim, what's that? Sorry if thick question! Mine are looking lovely, grew them on as suggested, potting them deeper each time and they look very healthy. False sense of security? Lottie

Here's a better picture which I missed.

Nothing wrong - it's nature. You can grow both on, but it's more normal to grit ones teeth & take one out before it takes too much out of the plant.

Tim, is it worth taking cuttings from tomatoes? dip it in hormone rooting powder and into the pot with it? Or are tomatoes not suitable for that?

I've bought a pot of rooting hormone and am wondering which of my veggies are the best candidates... is that a good way to use bits of the plant that you need to cut off anyway?

Works well for tomatoes to plant up the side shoots.

Works well. In fact either of the shoots shown would be ideal! Or any side shoot of nearly pencil thickness. I do a lot for our local plant sale like that.

Couple of mind have split like that.  I choose the smaller of the stems, and the one with the most immature flowers.  Tis a shame though.  And I really should try to take cuttings from the side shoots.

does the cutting method only work for indeterminates or can one successfully propagate determinate tom types using this method as well?  ???  what does 'in time' mean? ASAP I'm assuming?
