The reasons why these things are close together is to do with Christianity pinching existing festivals for its own use. Halloween=Walpurgis night=Winter solstice. Plus there was a bonfire on Nov11th, to celebrate Q E1's birthday after the new Puritan types objected to Halloweeen stuff. So good idea for James1 and 6 to combine all of these in a celebration for him on a slightly different day.
