Scrap wood left on allotment plot by local factory max of 2m x 20cm - free - a bit of effort to remove the staples and applying some form of preservative

Gonna get mine from B&Q - its just under £10 for 4 long panks of wood (cant remeber dimensions but they looke pretty rugged (they are planed as well).

Was gonna get those click/lock raised beds but way too expensive.
Keep getting worried that the stuff I grow will taste nasty - or turn out poisonous!

I KNOW!! I use planks too. But we have no scrap left-overs or Bs&Qs. Or scaffolding throw-outs.

Was just showing how anything can differ hugely in price.

Personally, I'm having a bit of a giggle here imagining the allotment equipment raised bed whatnots and watering butts mashed between the £500/oz. beluga caviar and the victorian estate jewellry *snorts*

=)

My paternal grandmother was a big fan of Harrod's, bless her, and she'd have possibly gone there to buy a gardener, complete with trilby hat, but certainly not have dreamed of doing anything in her garden apart from cutting roses and overseeing :)
