Allotments 4 All

Came home from work today, found this moth on my fence. Never seen one before. Quite impressive, found out this info on the web.

I live in Somerset, in a small town. Is it strange to see in a town environment ?

I found a leopard moth on my trousers the other day (after putting them on for work, thought it was a bit of tissue!) Unfortunately didn't have time for pictures.
