Hi,
I bought a hardy geranium from the garden centre, bunged it in the garden with some compost and watered etc but the leaves are going pink/red, a bit like strawberry leaves sometimes do. Is it deficient in something? What can I do to make it happier??

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,

Some geraniums are supposed to be coloured leafed forms, and even some of the other species/forms have some colouration in the leaves. Can you remember which particulare Geranium it is?
Gardening is the great leveller.

Piglit , it is possible that frost nipped it  or a very cold night.

A hardy garden geranium I would check to see if anything is munching the roots.
If it was dried out at the garden center this could be the cause and if it was potbound more white roots than compost you need to pull the roots apart and get soil around them other wise they grow around in circles.
If its outer leaves thats fine just keep and eye on the new leaves comming.

I've been out and checked mine today and mine too is turning red on the leaves but I think that's what it's supposed to do.  Mine looks very healthy - if yours does then there should be no need to worry about the red leaves  :)
