Thank you everyone for your birthday wishes.  We went with our caravan to Worthing for a week and did not have wi-fi at the campsite so I haven't been on line much this past week.  I managed to see my birthday wishes by logging onto Tesco website whilst having a coffee there but the coffee shop closed before I had a chance to read them all or to reply.   

I was disappointed in Worthing as I remember it as a very quiet resort and was looking forward to a peaceful walk along the pier and beach.  Instead we found this:

We have been to Cornwall many times in the summer holidays with our grandchildren and never run across funfairs on beaches.  There are amusement parks such as Flambards but they are tucked away from the coast so do not spoil the scenery nor spoil the sound of the sea lapping on the rocks.  I doubt we would go back to Worthing again though would like to visit Arundel and Bracklesham Bay some time.
